About The Fir & Myrtle (TF&M)
The Fir and Myrtle (or TF&M) is the name ascribed to my collective long-term projects and what they offer:
(1) EALL&D toolkit (equine assisted leadership learning and development programme; and Quarterly Newsletter for personal and professional development.
(2) RiTR (Art-making programme for leadership, personal and professional development with a focus on creativity and innovation)
(3) IRLR [Ir]responsible Leadership Research; Board Game and App)
(4) Journal of a Professor or JoAP (audio visual research into the life history of leaders, linked to theory and practice)
(5) Tecam (The Executive Coach and Mentor: one to one coaching and mentoring).
Let's face it, not everyone has innate leadership qualities. However, it is a well known fact that they can be developed if learning is in-depth. Learning can be surface/passive or in-depth/intentional. Interestingly, there‘s a connection between in-depth/intentional learning, authentic and responsible leadership, which also requires wisdom. Wisdom and progression in leadership, personal and professional development go hand in hand.
I’m Lola-Peach Martins and a freelance HRM professional specialising in Leadership Learning, and Personal and Professional Development. I have a proven track record/portfolio of over 20 years experience as a Senior Academician/Researcher, Consultant/Collaborator, Coach and Mentor at one of the UK’s renowned Universities for student satisfaction and research. In addition, I‘ve gained over 20 years experience in using creative and immersive techniques in designing and delivering courses in leadership learning and development. such techniques include for e.g. a variety of art-making activities, gaming; and more recently equitation, I operate under a collective brand name TF&M, and aim to support and facilitate your learning journey towards flourishing in your personal and professional leadership role i.e., without you crashing.
I understand that leadership is a major challenge, and life in general can be rough and tough. That is why I offer essential tools to facilitate the continuous unblocking and unlocking of leadership, personal and professional potential. Such potential that enables individuals to embrace profound learning and development opportunities.
For the learning and development pathways, I use/offer various methods and techniques: workshops (online or in-person), one-to-one, audio visuals, hardbacks and paperbacks, boardgames, Apps, social media platforms.
TF&M aims to facilitate your leadership, personal and professional development learning journey. For e.g., your gaining profound insight into wise and intelligent communication, conflict resolution, and resilience, which are core leadership competencies essential for leadership awareness and practice.
Such competences can be developed by embarking on the EALL&D programme—using the toolkit. Or you could enhance your personal and professional development through mindful and meditative art-making; or you could engage with and learn through JoAP audio visual research and storytelling; or through IRLR you could gain insight on [ir]responsible leadership, and reflect as you study reports, and play the IRLR game; or through Tecam you could have one to one coaching and mentoring—having meaningful, in-depth conversations to set implementable objectives, maximise your potential to fulfil what seems like an impossible task—make the best decisions. Coaching and/or mentoring can also be undertaken prior to, during
or as a follow up to 1-4 above.

1) EALL&D - Equine Assisted Leadership Learning and Development
EALL&D offers an online executive and senior leadership course. Delivery is online and pre-recorded, although one-to-one or group sessions can be arranged. The main approach is self-coaching.
Undoubtedly, online learning is popular. Furthermore, the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) studies confirmed that in the last decade leadership coaching and mentoring shows no sign of abating,, with various factors influencing growth in demand i.e. including the use of online platforms for learning and development.
2) RiTR - Refuge in The Rock
RiTR offers Faith-based personal empowerment workshops. RiTR also runs exhibitions and other unique reflective spaces. These art-based mindfulness-meditation, and spiritual self-empowerment spaces, workshops and exhibitions focus on specific ancient Scriptures that draw attention to the essence of living a Spiritually focused life based on a critical metaphor - “The Rock.” During these events participants learn how to gain wisdom and full confidence in decision making as they focus on The Rock - take refuge in “The Rock” for e.g., and learn much, much more about connecting "The Rock" to sustainable personal and professional development. The RiTR way includes Coaching and Mindfulness, (e.g. reflection and paying attention - from a Christian perspective), Meditation (e.g., focus and prayer from a Christian perspective), and Cristian Rock-Art.
